TEHRAN - The Iranian energy minister has said the use of electric cars in Iran will be inevitable in the not-too-distant future.
Hamid Chitchian said that the electricity industry should be prepared to launch special stations to supply electricity to such vehicles, the Tasnim news agency reported Tuesday.
Chitchian noted that the Energy Ministry is planning to strongly support science-based companies particularly those active in electric vehicle industry.
Preliminary studies to estimate the [country’s] electricity capacity required for employing such vehicles kick-started in Iran Energy Efficiency Organization last year in cooperation with Sahrif University of Technology.
